Wenbo Mao

Wenbo Mao joined EMC in May 2007 as the Director of its newly created research team in Beijing, EMC Research China. In 1994, Wenbo joined Hewlett-Packard Laboratories at Bristol, UK, and from 2005-2007 he helped found the organization's Beijing research lab. In HP, he held the positions of Senior Member of Technical Staff (since 1996), and Principal Engineer and Technical Lead (since 2000). Wenbo obtained a BSc in mathematics from Fudan University in Shanghai, China (1982), an MSc in computer science from Beihang University in Beijing, China (1987), and a PhD in computer science from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland (1992). From 1992-1994, Dr. Mao held a post-doctoral research position in Manchester University in Manchester, UK. Wenbo has served the international research community in various roles including chairing, organizing and directing conferences, standards groups, research consortiums, forums and summer schools. He has also held honorary and adjunct professorship positions in several universities including Fudan University, Queensland University of Technology, Bristol University and Beijing University of Science and Technology. |
